It doesn’t even seem that long ago, when Bryan came up with the idea of “The Prospects”, and when it came down to last Friday night, it seemed surreal that the show had actually come to life! WhatsGoodToronto.com was quite pleased with the way the entire night panned out and was amazed at the amount of support that walked through the doors of the DC Music Place!

A huge congratulations and a BIG, good thank you goes out to all the prospects who brought their A-game to the stage, as well as all the spectators; the show would not have been what it was if you all were not there! DC Music Place, The One Clothing, Black Leaf Clothing, thefreshandfly.com and Universal Canada also deserve a very grateful shout-out! I had the pleasure of hosting the night and man did I ever enjoy it! The energy was crazy, and the feeling was unforgettable! From beginning to end, the show came to life over and over again! So many great memories were made that night including: a debut performance! The crowd loved it and so did we! As we continue to grow and get to know more and more hidden gems in this city, The Prospects was thus far; our finest tool in the shed! We hoped that this would open many more eyes, and bring to life the underground talent that so many music lovers are oblivious to.

These artists have talent, charisma, excitement and the ability to put on a show without having the same credentials of the talent we hear on our radios today! That is what made this show that much more special, and interesting! July 29th was the first night that I met all of these artists with the exception of two, and these guys were true to themselves, both on stage and off! i feel lucky to be apart of this team for reasons such as these, and being apart of an inspiring show like The Prospects! Another reason as to why I love what I do! These contenders deserve your vote and your eardrums, so please take a second and VOTE for your top four HERE!

Don’t forget that our top four will move onto our second show, which from there only one will go on and open up for a major artist in the third show!! Excited? So are we!!

THE PROSPECTS: -> Mikey, Marcos Mendosa, Ray Lontoc, Chris Brooks, Joe Racz, Nukky Grisson, Reese Reyes, Klepto and Eternal! (Search them all FB, Twitter and Youtube)

Hope you all loved your free giveaways too!! Shout-out to my WGT family -> BE PROUD!!

VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!

Just days ago, WhatsGoodToronto.com along with other media outlets had firsthand experience to Daddy Yankee’s Press Conference and also had the privilege to check him out in concert for the first time in Toronto! With more than 8 million albums sold, five no. 1 hits on the Billboard’s radio chart, including the top selling Latin urban artist of the decade according to Billboard Magazine, Daddy Yankee is always a leading innovator in his native genre urban music style that is constantly pushing the envelope!

A testament to this would be being named “one of the most influential people” in the world by both CNN and Time Magazine. What an incredible feat, and well deserved! The Press Conference was held on July 22nd, which brought many media outlets together and was hosted by International artist and President of Crown Loyalty Entertainment, Fito Blanko.  As I was walking into the Press Conference Room and setting up, the anticipation soon greatly built as Fito gave us a rundown to how the conference would run with a little background of the event.  Amidst him speaking he was interrupted to announce the introduction of Daddy Yankee.  Soon enough the room was filled with whistles, claps, sounds of photographs being taken and flashes going off.  And so it began!

When Daddy Yankee was asked what took him so long to come to Canada? He responded by saying that “I’ve wanted to come to Canada for a long time but it wasn’t possible because of my busy schedule, but I know that everything happens for a reason, and tomorrow will be a big step for my genre and my music.” And rightfully so, as he always promises to deliver at every concert and appearance, on Saturday July 23rd was his first time he hit the stage in Canada, that day would be no different. I found my press booth and waited for the arena to slowly fill up! In the meantime I tried my luck and went down to the lower level to get a close up for photos. It was a success, and I stayed there for the remainder of the concert.  International artists Fito Blanko & El Cata performed and now it was time for The “Big Boss” himself. With a few minor sound adjustments it was time.  Well let’s just say the sound level went from pretty low to like the ladies were dosed in a little bit of gasolina! It was getting hot, and it seemed like ladies were throwing themselves at him (literally) to put the heat out! But hey, that’s just another day at the office for Mr Daddy Yankee! The Concert overall was great & Daddy Yankee ripped up the stage! Great Night!

I wanted to give a special thanks to Crown Loyalty Entertainment, Mynt Productions, & Icaro booking Services for all their hard work to make everything possible!
